Where Our Story Begins
Latvala Lumber co.
Founded in 1980 on the Iron Range by the Latvala family, Latvala Lumber quickly earned a reputation for superior building materials and unwavering customer support. That commitment to excellence helped establish us as the region’s leading lumberyard—a standard we proudly maintain today.
In 2011, we expanded with the acquisition of a Grand Rapids location, strengthening our presence and ability to serve Northern Minnesota. Now under new ownership since 2021, we remain guided by the same core value that built our legacy: treating everyone the way we would want to be treated.

Meanwhile, Paramount Granite has been serving Minnesota and beyond since 1996. Specializing in the fabrication and installation of natural and engineered stone countertops, islands, bathrooms, and more. Our impeccable craftsmanship and commitment to customer satisfaction have earned us a reputation for excellence.

A new chapter built on decades of expertise
Opened in June 2024, the Paramount Design Center was created to bring clarity and support to homeowners and contractors throughout Northern Minnesota. Instead of visiting multiple suppliers for cabinets, countertops, and exterior products, we built a space where everything comes together.
